About Dr. Baumann Cosmetics
Effective and healthy skincare is so important for the long-term sustainability of a healthy and beautiful skin. Our founders, Dr. Ernst Henrich and Dr. Thomas Baumann, realized that the cosmetics industry was not distributing products that met the standards necessary for achieving a perfectly healthy skin. Looking for a change, they set out to develop products that focused on the health of the skin, as well as beauty.
Dr. Ernst Henrich is a PHD in Medicine, a specialist in naturopath treatment and dermatologist graduated from the University of Cologne. Dr. Thomas Baumann is a graduate from Heidelberg University with a PHD in Biochemistry specializing in Enzymekinetics.
Together they have focused their research on medically sound, skin compatible cosmetics without allergenic ingredients. The Company has been creating high quality, environmentally and animal friendly products since 1990.
Our Philosophy
“Bionomy” is the science of the laws of life. These laws are the basis of the development and production of our skincare products. This means that we take into account the metabolic processes in the human body and skin, and concern ourselves with environmental aspects.
The principles of bionome skincare are:
- Optimal compatibility through the application of skin care and allergy research into the choice of ingredients.
- A targeted selection of ingredients whose effect has been described, documented and are beneficial to the skin.
- A harmony between ingredients and the skin. This is achieved when as many as possible of the ingredients exist naturally in the skin.
- Environmentally friendly through the avoidance of unnecessary packaging.
- Animal-friendly through the exclusion of animal substances.
